Durlabhbhai Ramjibhai Patel and Ramjibhai Bhanabhai Patel Commerce College, Surat is a Self-finance co-education college affiliated to Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat. The college was started in 2001 with an aim for spreading the knowledge and to empower the youth to cope with the vast challenges and opportunities of this competitive world.
The college was initially, named as ‘Durlabhbhai Ramjibhai Bhanabhai Commerce College’ The institution started by the trust multiplied into a group of new institutions of which D.R.Patel & R.B.Patel Commerce College is a towering institute. Initially the college was sanctioned single division of F.Y.B.Com. (Guj.Med.). The College began with a batch of 106 students. The college initially operated in rental premises for one and half years. From the academic year 2003-04 it shifted to its own premises. From the academic year 2004-05, the college was permitted to start English Medium classes in the commerce stream. It was then that the college was renamed as. “Durlabhbhai Ramjibhai Patel & Ramjibhai Bhanabhai Patel Commerce College (Self-finance-Gujarati Medium & English Medium).
The college has been running Post Graduation programme in commerce since academic year 2017-18. Today the college encompasses strength of more than 3400 students including graduation and post graduation.
After 25 years of history today the scenario of the college has changed a lot in respect of results, number of students, number of divisions, cut-off percentage for the admission, excellence, sports achievements and infrastructure.
